First Nation Leaders

The First Nations Sport Academy is a dynamic initiative dedicated to empowering Indigenous athletes and communities through sport. Bringing together experienced mentors, elite coaches, and community leaders, the Academy focuses on developing emerging talent, supporting local sporting clubs, and creating pathways for young people to reach their full potential.

Through training programs, mentoring, and community engagement, FNSA works to build capability, increase participation, and ensure equal access to sporting opportunities across Queensland and beyond.

“The best vision is insight, I rose to the top of Rugby League through the difficulties of being a First Nations athlete wanting to rise to the top and it wasn’t easy.

Talent alone for any athlete isn’t enough, and being First Nations and from a poor background is always that bit harder, but it’s not impossible. There are many great First Nations athletes for us to be inspired by. But the path should be level for all of us.

My team and I are here to help young First Nations athletes build there dreams, from just wanting to play sport, to identifying those rare diamonds who can maybe make it.
